Our mission is to grow a reputable sales rep organization within the hunting industry by representing quality product lines and by establishing long term working relationships with distributors, dealers and manufacturers that are based on trust and mutual respect.

Our creed “Whatever It Takes” simply means that the PMI organization will do whatever it takes to grow sales and profits for the companies we represent while maintaining our professional and ethical principles.

Our experience and training allows the PMI sales team to provide knowledgeable product and industry information in order to facilitate sales. Our team of experts provides technical training and support on a regular basis to ensure success for the retailer which in turn will mean success for PMI and the Manufacturers we represent.

PMI Company Profile/History

Professional Marketing Incorporated (PMI) was founded in 2008 by Tom Wiley as a sales rep agency representing Nikon Sport Optics and several other recognized hunting brands in Mississippi and Alabama. Due to rapid success, PMI has recently added eight (8) states to its sales territory and five (5) experienced members to its sales team. In 2010, PMI relocated from a home-based office to a permanent location in downtown Starkville, MS with a staff ready to meet the needs of its customers.

PMI currently represents several of the most reputable manufacturers in the industry but our line list is not long. By keeping the line list short we are able to ensure that we take the best care possible of each manufacturer we represent. A few of the Manufacturers represented by PMI include Nikon Optics, American Tactical Imports, Coast Products, DNZ Mounts, Banded Tactical Hunting Gear, and Rig ‘Em Right Waterfowl Products.

EXPERIENCE
Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary has five (5) definitions of the word experience. PMI has it regardless of which definition you choose. We have 80+ years of combined experience in the outdoor industry, which is impressive, but we are more than years of experience. As the principal of the group, Tom Wiley leads with an intimate knowledge of all aspects of the industry. As the founder and former owner of Flextone brand game calls, Tom has seen the industry from all perspectives. As the General Manager of Flextone brand game calls, Tom’s many duties included all aspects of running the day to day business. While his emphasis was on sales, marketing, and public relations, he also functioned as Trade Show Coordinator, Advertising Buyer, Graphic Designer, New Product Designer, Contract Labor Manager, and Quality Controller. This culmination of experience has led to a greater understanding of the expectations and needs of manufacturers. This sets PMI apart from other sales organizations that oftentimes have a narrower viewpoint and base of experience.

By assembling some of the most experienced and hard working reps in the industry, PMI is hard to beat. This team has experience in many marketing areas including law enforcement, hardware, marine, and of course sporting goods and the outdoor industry. Our team knows the customer base, the territory and are all self starters. This wide range of experience coupled with the expertise that comes with many years of perfecting the sales process makes PMI the best choice in the Southeast to grow sales and profits in the outdoor industry.

RELATIONSHIPS
PMI’s goal is to establish long-term working relationships that are mutually beneficial to both PMI and its’ dealers, distributors and vendors. The PMI sales team has a long history of repeat business in an industry not known for sustaining such working relationships. Several of PMI’s sales reps have represented Nikon Sport Optics for over 20 years. The relationships forged between our sales team and our distributors, dealers and manufacturers go beyond the ordinary. PMI’s relationships are based on trust and mutual respect. Dealers respect our opinions not only on the products we represent but also contact us asking for advice on market trends and other products as well. Additionally, we believe in follow through and solid marketing support for our customers.

KNOWLEDGE
PMI makes every effort to be as knowledgeable as possible in regards to the product lines represented. We do extensive training on the product lines we sell. While sell in is important, the PMI sales team also knows that to ensure sell through and reorder, our distributors, dealers (and their sales staff) must be thoroughly trained and knowledgeable.

ACCESSIBILITY
Customer support does not end when an order is placed. PMI sales reps are available after the sale to provide technical support and training. We are equipped with the latest technology to do our jobs from the road. Even though we are often out in the trenches, we pride ourselves on being available. We make every effort to have a salesman or support staff return all calls the same day.

Tom Wiley
Principal – Professional Marketing Incorporated
Sales Territory – Mississippi and Alabama

Tom Wiley’s entry into the hunting industry followed an unconventional path. In 1995, while working as an Emergency Room Nurse, Tom developed a game call design using surgical tubing. In 1998, Tom founded Wiley Outdoor Products to manufacture and market Flextone brand game calls. In 2000, after receiving a patent for his flexible game call design, he left his nursing career behind. He has successfully marketed various game call designs (Flextone Brand Game calls and Remington Game Calls) to many major hunting retailers and distributors including Wal-Mart, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Gander Mountain and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Tom sold the assets of Wiley Outdoor Products, LLC to Wildgame Innovations in late 2007, but is still involved in new product development. His vast experience in the hunting industry has contributed to a reputation within his territory as a well known expert in many facets of the industry and sport that he loves. On the sales and marketing front, Tom has created many successful advertising campaigns and dealer/distributor promotions. His current web project will bring all of the dealers in the southeast territory up to cyber speed with some viral marketing through his web site www.wileyoutdoorproducts.com and www.youtube.com. On the service front, Tom has developed relationships with the dealers and distributors in his territory that go beyond the ordinary. Training is key to Tom’s success and he has hosted many shooting/hunting/training events that have contributed to a team of experts behind the counter.

David Baker
Sales Territory – Ellett Brothers

Starting in the Sporting Goods Industry over 25 years ago, David has fine tuned his sales skills with hard work, perseverance, and dedications to his craft. David works everyday with sporting goods distributors, catalog houses, regional chains, independents and internet operations giving him a look at all aspects of the business. Being promotion driven, David has developed into one of the very best idea men out there.

David has many accomplishments under his belt but a few include the following: In 1985 David helped Tony Knight to start the first inline muzzle loading rifle company, Knight Rifles. David sold their first gun and set up distribution throughout the Southeast, helping to grow the line from nothing to several million dollars per year in a few short years. He was sales rep of the year for 7 straight years while acting as the principal of the rep group that was the rep group of the year for the same duration.

In 2004 David began representation with FNH USA. Sales at this time in the Southeast were negligible. David’s group achieved unprecedented growth with many millions of dollars in sales per year and led the country in sales over the next 4 years. David was in charge of setting distribution throughout the Southeast with not only sporting goods but with also Law Enforcement and Military Sales. Additionally, David was in charge of demonstrations/training seminars; LE bids; co-op advertising promotions and won sales rep of the year for 2 years and honorable mention in another.

In 2007 Dave helped DNZ “DEDNUTZ scope mounts” to start distribution in the US by helping the company hire rep groups throughout the US and Canada. He formed and set up distribution in the SE with dealers and distributors as well as helped create dealer, distributor, and buying group programs for the company. He has been sales rep of the year for 3 straight years.

Charlie Sadler
Sales Territory – South Carolina, Georgia, RSR, CSSI

Charlie has worked in the Southeast for over 25 years, servicing Sporting Goods distributors, dealers, along with national and regional chain stores. As a manufacturer’s representative, he has worked in all aspects of the rep business but his true love is territory sales and management. Charlie has earned many sales awards over the years, but is especially proud of his 15 Nikon sales awards. He has been a rep principle, run the rep office and has spearheaded many, many agency marketing projects. Charlie works closely with all accounts in promoting and marketing products.

Dustin Gibbs
Sales Territory – Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee

Dustin graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Marketing and has enjoyed working in the sporting goods industry for the past 8 years. Before joining the PMI team, he worked as the gun department manager for Final Flight Outfitters located in Union City, Tennessee where he managed everyday operations in the gun department, as well as the responsibilities of buying long guns, hand guns, optics, and a few hunting accessory categories. He will now use his background in retail to relate to his customers on both sides of the counter. He will strive to make sure he builds positive relationships with his customers by maintaining a high standard of integrity and honesty. His character, along with a hard work ethic will assure that his customers are prepared for success through training and customer service as well as being up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry. As a devoted outdoorsman, Dustin is able to use his personal knowledge and experiences to understand what dealers, as well as consumers, need and want in quality outdoor products.

Joseph Palermo
Sales Territory – Florida

Joe is a Retired Detective with the New York City Police Department’s Detective Bureau Counter Terrorism and Training Unit. For many years, Joe has also worked at all of the major industry trade shows as a Nikon Pro Staff. Now as a full-time sales rep, Joe brings the ability to train others. He is a motivated, self starter and has proven to be a tireless worker. Joe received the Nikon 2008 Rookie of the Year Award and his success has quickly led to significant sales growth within his territory.

Jeff Green
Pro-Staff for Southeast Territory
Sales Territory- Co-Op/Farm and Ranch accounts in AL, MS

Jeff has been a Pro Staffer for outdoor and hunting products for over 10 years. He works numerous distributor and trade shows in the Southeast annually. Jeff is a dedicated sportsman that enjoys introducing people to the outdoors and encouraging them to get involved by showing them we are the conservationists and stewards of the land for future generations. Jeff has recently taken on the task of developing and growing our business through the many Co-Op/Farm and Ranch dealers throughout MS and AL.

Suzanne Dewberry
Office Manager

Suzanne has been keeping Tom Wiley straight for over 10 years and was an important part of the success of Flextone game calls in the early years. She continues to be a valuable part of the team and is available to help our manufacturers with a variety of tasks.


Kyle Bond
Sales Territory – North Carolina and Virginia

Kyle Bond, is the newest PMI sales rep. Kyle worked as the Marketing Coordinator for PMI for a little over a year before moving to North Carolina to take over the North Carolina/ Virginia Territory. Kyle graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Sports Management and has a real passion for the sporting goods industry. He brings five years of retail experience to the table as a buyer of soft goods and a manager of Final Flight Outfitters located in Union City, TN. Kyle has a broad range of knowledge in the retail market, and will use his skills to insure he gives our vendors the best representation possible.

Josiah Buckner
Sales & Marketing Coordinator

Avid outdoorsman and accomplished hunter, Josiah Buckner, has returned to PMI as the marketing coordinator. Josiah worked as PMI’s first marketing coordinator from 2013-2014 receiving numerous national and international awards for his work in designing POP materials for our vendors. He brings 10 years of military experience, currently serving as a Technical Sergeant in the Air National Guard and having served overseas in Operation Enduring Freedom. Josiah was previously employed by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office and Starkville, MS Police Department where he was a Narcotics Detective and SWAT team member. Josiah’s Law Enforcement and Military experiences along with his love for the outdoors and outdoor industry give him a great working knowledge of our product lines. Josiah studied Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations at Mississippi State University. He is a creative, humorous, self motivated, driven individual, and an important part of our team. His role as Marketing Coordinator will ensure that PMI gets our manufacturers message in front of the consumers in the Southeast. We also plan to utilize his Law Enforcement and Military background to reach various LE accounts in our territory. .
