The 3-9×40 BDC 150 features repeatable ¼- inch @ 50 yds reticle adjustments, is 22 LR- specific with a BDC 150 reticle.

The new Rimfire 150 is parallax free at 50 yards. The ProStaff series features a fully multicoated optical system, up to 98% light transmission, spring loaded Zero-Reset turrets and precise ¼-MOA click adjustments.

Nikon Expands Muzzleloader Line

Nikon rocked the Muzzleloading world with the introduction of the original Omega Muzzleloading riflescope and the new Omega promises more of the same for 2009. Blackpowder hunters now have more options to find the scope that best suits their terrain and style of hunting

The New Omega 1.65-5×36 is a lower magnification, more compact version of its big brother the 3-9×40. Fully packed with features, including the Nikon BDC 250 Reticle calibrated for ballistic tipped sabot muzzleloader bullets, the new Omega is every bit as precise as the original.

“No matter what a hunter’s choice is for a firearm, Nikon has a scope built specifically for that application,” said Nikon Sport Optics General Manager Jon Allen. “From the SlugHunter line to the Omega line to the Encore line, Nikon has more pursuit specific tools than any other optics company.”

Five full inches of eye relief mean you can comfortably and safely mount this scope on even the hardest kicking muzzleloaders. With a super bright exit pupil of 7.2mm and Nikon’s fully multicoated lens you can hunt right up to the end of legal shooting time. The durable one-inch tube features hand turn 1/4 MOA adjustment and a 100-yard parallax setting. Multicoated lens provide 92% Light Transmission for excellent low light performance.

The new Omega is available in a matte finish with the BDC-250 or Nikoplex reticle or Realtree’s APG with BDC-250. The MSRP is $239.95 with the BDC Reticle, $299.95 with the Nikoplex reticle and $249.95 APG with BDC. The new Omega will be on dealer shelves in plenty of time for 2009 hunting seasons.

Nikon Introduces Breakthrough BDC Riflescope Reticle

Nikon has announced a new reticle designed to be used in conjunction with its popular laser rangefinders to provide hunters with an easy-to-use system for determining proper long-range shot placement on animals.

The new Nikon BDC (Bullet Drop Compensating) is actually a trajectory-compensating reticle designed and calibrated to provide fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. This unique system integrates a series of small “ballistic circles”—each subtending 2” @ 100 yards— allowing unimpeded lines of sight to even small targets.

Nikon’s BDC is designed to be used with most standard centerfire cartridges with typical bullet weights, providing aiming points out to 500 yards, with a 100-yard sight-in. With Magnum cartridges and typical bullet weights, the same scopes with BDC reticles offer aiming points out to 600 yards, with a 200-yard sight-in.

After sighting-in the crosshair at 100 or 200 yards with the highest magnification, determine the distance to the target and use the appropriate ballistic circle. Verify the aiming points by shooting at actual, measured distances.

Mastering the art of long-range shooting has always been one of the greatest challenges for the hunter. Determining the correct hold-point on an animal at long range has a lot to do with the velocity of a cartridge, bullet weight and ballistic coefficient—or science—and little to do with luck or guess work. While there is no substitute for practice, Nikon’s new BDC reticle— particularly when used with a Nikon Laser Rangefinder—can provide the necessary edge in determining proper shot placement at a variety of known distances. Nikon’s BDC reticle is available in the following scopes, Monarch Gold 2.5-10×50, Monarch 3-9×40, Monarch 3.5-10×50, Monarch 4-12×40, Monarch 5.5-16.5×44, Monarch 6.5-20×44, Buckmasters 3-9×40, Buckmasters 4.5-14×40, Buckmasters 6-18×40 and ProStaff 3-9×40.
