Nikon Sport Optics is proud to announce the winners of its 2009 Sales Awards. These awards are chosen by taking into consideration sales number increases, but also factor in unique aspects of a rep’s given territory and the efforts they put forth.

Salesman of the Year is based on the best percentage of dollar increase among all the reps individually while Rep Group of the Year takes the best increase from a group perspective. Elite Salesmen must show an increase but are also chosen based on marketing and promotion efforts within their territories and stores.

The James R. D’Elia award is given in honor of Jim D’Elia, whose hard work and dedication propelled Nikon into the sport optics category. Now retired, D’Elia’s strategies and ideas still influence the day-to-day operations of Nikon Sport Optics and the sales teams. This award is given to the representative who demonstrates the highest level of professionalism in all aspects of sales.

The Winners are as follows:

-Salesman of the Year, David Deveny with Owens Outdoor Sales (3rd consecutive win)

-Rep Group of the Year went to Adventure Bound, Greg Wilson and Doug Bellmore

-James R. D’Elia Sales Professional Award, Ryan Weimer with Thomas F. Gowen and Sons.

The Elite Salesmen of the Year are:

-Tom Hadt, Bruce Odle and Associates

-John Trieskey, Thomas F. Gowen and Sons

-Tom Wiley, Professional Marketing Inc

Nikon Sport Optics is proud to work with the best sales representation agencies in the industry and is pleased to give these awards for all of the work they do supporting dealers and wholesalers across the country.

Nikon Sport Optics is proud to introduce the very first scope dedicated to the slug gun.

Nikon Sport Optics is proud to introduce the very first scope dedicated to the slug gun. Built from the ground up to meet the needs of today’s modern slug shooter, the new 3-9×40 SlugHunter scope is a revolution for an often-overlooked method of hunting.

The Nikon SlugHunter offers hunters a means to take advantage of their shotgun’s shooting characteristics. Designed around Nikon’s patented BDC (Bullet Drop Compensating) reticle system this new scope offers accuracy potential never before thought possible from a slug gun.

Engineered specifically for rifled slug guns, the new Nikon BDC 200 is a trajectory compensating reticle that provides fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. Calibrated to be sighted in on the crosshair at 50 yards, the BDC 200 has two ballistic circles that represent 100-yard and 150-yard aiming points. For exceptionally accurate gun and load combinations, the lower reticle post becomes a 200-yard aiming point as well.

Well-known hunting writer and slug gun expert Dave Henderson worked with Nikon to develop this scope. His experience and knowledge proved invaluable in creating the ultimate slug gun scope.

“I’ve always been a fan of Nikon optics and working with them to develop a scope specifically for slug hunters was a real joy,” said Henderson. “Slug hunters have long been in need of a scope built for their guns and the new Nikon SlugHunter won’t disappoint.”

A full five inches of eye relief means a safe and comfortable shot with even the hardest hitting magnum loads. Nikon multicoated optics produce crisp, clear images, while 92% light transmission keeps the hunter in the field when the game is moving. The innovative SlugHunter scope features 1/4-MOA click adjustments, 100-yard parallax setting and Nikon’s rugged waterproof, fogproof and shock proof performance.

The New SlugHunter measures a compact 11.3-inches in length, and weighs 13.8 ounces. The scope is priced at $249.95.

Nikon Inc. is the U.S. distributor of Nikon sports and recreational optics, world-renowned Nikon 35mm cameras, digital cameras, speedlights and accessories, Nikkor lenses and electronic imaging products.

For more information on the new Nikon SlugHunter shotgun scope, or information on Nikon’s full line of Riflescopes, Laser Rangefinders, Binoculars, Fieldscopes and Spotting Scopes, please contact: Nikon Sport Optics, 1300 Walt Whitman Rd., Melville, NY 11747-3064 or call 1-800-248-6846. www.nikonsportoptics.com

Nikon rocked the Muzzleloading world with the introduction of the original Omega Muzzleloading riflescope and the new Omega promises more of the same for 2009. Blackpowder hunters now have more options to find the scope that best suits their terrain and style of hunting

The New Omega 1.65-5×36 is a lower magnification, more compact version of its big brother the 3-9×40. Fully packed with features, including the Nikon BDC 250 Reticle calibrated for ballistic tipped sabot muzzleloader bullets, the new Omega is every bit as precise as the original.

“No matter what a hunter’s choice is for a firearm, Nikon has a scope built specifically for that application,” said Nikon Sport Optics General Manager Jon Allen. “From the SlugHunter line to the Omega line to the Encore line, Nikon has more pursuit specific tools than any other optics company.”

Five full inches of eye relief mean you can comfortably and safely mount this scope on even the hardest kicking muzzleloaders. With a super bright exit pupil of 7.2mm and Nikon’s fully multicoated lens you can hunt right up to the end of legal shooting time. The durable one-inch tube features hand turn 1/4 MOA adjustment and a 100-yard parallax setting. Multicoated lens provide 92% Light Transmission for excellent low light performance.

The new Omega is available in a matte finish with the BDC-250 or Nikoplex reticle or Realtree’s APG with BDC-250. The MSRP is $239.95 with the BDC Reticle, $299.95 with the Nikoplex reticle and $249.95 APG with BDC. The new Omega will be on dealer shelves in plenty of time for 2009 hunting seasons.

Nikon Inc. is the U.S. distributor of Nikon sports and recreational optics, world-renowned Nikon 35mm cameras, digital cameras, speedlights and accessories, Nikkor lenses and electronic imaging products.

For more information about the new Omega and the full line of Riflescopes, Laser Rangefinders, Binoculars and Spotting Scopes, contact: Nikon Sport Optics, 1300 Walt Whitman Rd., Melville, NY 11747-3064. 1-800-645-6687. www.nikonhunting.com

In 2009, Nikon pushes its optical technology in its All Terrain Binocular line with features that will benefit the hunter serious about low light performance. The new Nikon Monarch X binocular series with 45mm objective lenses provide larger exit pupils for increased low light performance, while maintaining the balance and comparable weight of many competitors’ 42mm models. Available in 8.5×45 for the ultimate in light transfer and 10.5×45 for an ideal combination of power and performance, the Monarch X works equally well on tough stalks or long sits on stand.

By utilizing Nikon’s advanced Dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coatings, the Monarch X delivers a brighter, more crisp view during critical dawn and dusk periods. The long eye relief (8.5×45=20.6mm and 10.5×45=16.0mm) multi-position click-stop eyecups make using the New Monarch X a simple pleasure for any user—with or without eyeglasses.

“Nikon will always be a leader in the most advanced optical technology” said Jon LaCorte, Senior Product Marketing Manager. “The Monarch X combines recent advancements such as dielectric coatings and proven lightweight yet durable body construction to create a great addition to our binocular line.”

The Monarch X also features Nikon’s legendary fully multicoated optics, waterproof/fogproof ruggedness and flip-down objective covers. MSRP for the Monarch X is $579.95 for the 8.5×45 and $599.95 for the 10.5×45.

Nikon Inc. is the U.S. distributor of Nikon sports and recreational optics, world-renowned Nikon 35mm cameras, digital cameras, speedlights and accessories, Nikkor lenses and electronic imaging products.
